We normally enjoy staying at Drury’s, but the above rating reflects the lack of the usual breakfast experience one of the mornings.Just off Interstate 29 and less than 5 miles from Kansas City International Airport, this Missouri hotel features guest rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Although more than half an hour was left of the breakfast time, several items were missing on the buffet, making our breakfast less inspiring than expected. As we were not in a hurry, we decided to go back to our room and come back about 30 minutes later, but unfortunately things were still not okay. Apparently a large bus party also tried to get some breakfast. On the second morning, breakfast turned out to be less appealing and slightly chaotic with too many guests and too few staff members, making restocking of both food and drinks a challenge. On the first morning breakfast too was very good with several hot and cold choices. Drury’s 5:30 Kickback was great during our stay with good food and some nice drinks to follow. However, the proximity to the heavy traffic may be an issue if you are a light sleeper. We found our spacious room clean and equipped with the usual Drury amenities. The hotel lobby appeared nice and clean, and helpful staff at the front desk gave us a nice map of Montgomery. We found access to the hotel a bit tricky, but it is a convenient location. The hotel is located a ten minutes drive east of downtown Montgomery at the intersection of I-85 and US-231.
